The Aperture Science Weighted Storage Cube... Papercraft. Just finished this thing today. Took me a while to make, on account of how I constructed it.
First I cut out the whole cube and glued it onto a sheet of bristol paper, make it strong. Next I cut the thing out and got a piece of cardboard, the same one I used for my Turret Shipment Box. I measured the sides of the cube so I could cut equivalent sized sides that would be glued on the inside of the cube (made it tough so you could literally roll and drop it around places.
The corners I cut out and glued them to plain old index cards. After folding and gluing them into shape, I applied more glue on the inside surfaces to make them stronger, preventing them from receiving dents when rolled or dropped. Also did the same with the small square pieces that are applied on the side edges of the thing.
The black rings and the gray circles w/ the logos were cut out and glued onto bristol paper as well, to make them easier to work with.
To be quite honest, this was a bit more of a nightmare to do because you're constantly working on lots of pieces that look the same, it was insane... MAD!!! But... In the end the results are worth it. This thing looks exactly like the cubes in the game, LIVID!!!
This isn't the only cube you can build, there are other versions. There's also the companion cube, the vintage 50's cube, plus the lit up versions of the storage and companion cubes. You can get them here: [link]
AS USUALL, I'AM NOT THE PERSON THAT ACTUALLY CREATED THE MODEL. I FOUND IT, DOWNLOADED IT, PRINTED IT, AND BUILT IT. THIS IS NOT MY CREATION, BUT THE MODEL YOU SEE ABOVE IS THE ONE I BUILT SO... THERE.
You can find a tutorial on how I built my companion cube. Its basically the same as constructing the weighted storage cube. And no, I didn't buy it. Simply downloaded it, print it, and built it. Links to the download should be in the description section.
